these are the hankies i made my uncle john this year for christmas. i always worry that my people get sick of getting embroidered stuff; it's like when a member of your family works at a bowling alley and all you get for gifts are free games, i'm sure it sometimes gets old. i try to make sure they don't get the same things over and over again, and it isn't often i make hankies. all the men in my family use them, though, so i love making them. it's hard for me to not make them all the time.
there's something seriously comforting to me when i see a man pull out a hankie. i've been on a mission to get more of the men i know to use them, but for more selfish reasons than anything else. i've been thinking that more young men are interested in using hankies these days, as well as younger women. after all, they are useful. if you wear glasses, they're nice for keeping them clean. maybe you get a little schmutz on your sweater--a hankie can help you clean it up. you can use it on a runny nose, or in a sad movie. the possibilities are endless.
i know they aren't as common as they used to be, but i'm making an effort to bring them back. hopefully in february you'll see a lot more hankies on the site. that's one of the projects i want to focus on this next month. you know, when i'm not working.
