i wish i didn't have a day job.  if i didn't have a day job, i could stay home all day long and embroider things with dirty words and imaginary monsters.  then again, the day job means i get to see all sorts of crazy stuff that makes me think of even crazier things that i end up embroidering on baby shirts.  it's a vicious cycle.

someone said something really nice about me

last week i got a very nice email from julie, who runs the fabulous site, subversive cross stitch.   first off, her work is incredible.  you know how i feel about putting swear words all over the house, about subverting ideas about domesticity, and her kits help everyone put a much needed "fuck" or two on the wall.  her cross stitch designs have been in some of my favorite magazines, and her kits have sold in places like urban outfitters.  in a word, she's hella cool.  shes' super-ultra-mega cool.  she gets cooler, though (if that's at all possible) by being so kind as to mention me in her last newsletter.  to say i'm flattered would be an understatement.  i am blushing from head to toe.

small shirts for small people

my boys tiernan and jude were talking about rainbows the other day, and that got me to thinking.  they've got a thing for rainbows, so i had to put my twisted auntie A spin on them.  since they're only two i can still dress them as i wish!  oh, this power is intoxicating, albeit fleeting. 

and the sleepy tears make a return in brown.  i like the brown and grey together.  this would be a great shirt for kid who likes to get dirty.  of course, isn't that all kids?

and the sad little monster in turqoise.  ooh, i want to pinch his cheeks.
